Professional Background
Emile van den Berg is the National Agronomy Manager of Pioneer South Africa. He joined the company in 2008 as a Field Agronomist and soybean lead in the Kwa- Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Easter Free state areas. In this role as National Agronomy Manager, he develops the technical and quantitate context for national planning and implementation of the field sales mission in the areas of product line management, including the life cycle management of the different hybrids, broad agronomic information management, technical product training, service-oriented initiatives and marketplace tactics and strategies. He also serves as a member of the Extended Business Unit Leadership Team and Commercial Team representing the country in all technical and/or informational issues to all external audiences both internally and externally.
He plays a key role in national product life cycle decisions – advancement and estimate product knowledge. Gather and disseminate technical information to the field in, but not limited to, the following areas: agronomics, crop production systems, quality traits and product & all aspects of Pioneer brand products and technologies. The proper use of technical information will develop, advance and sell crop management ideas and Pioneer products and technologies. He is also responsible for understanding and managing all current agronomic technical information on products sold within assigned sales region.
This includes a complete understanding of any additional quantitative information that is critical to a complete understanding of the marketplace.

He earned his MSc Agric in Plant Breeding at the university of the Free state.
